‘Win it for neighbours’, Pakistanis are supporting India against England

"The Pakistanis are rooting for India. A defeat today would push England out of world cup contention and boost Pakistan’s chances for qualifying to the semi-final"

Former English batsmen Nasser Hussain asked on twitter whether the Pakistanis would be supporting India or England in the match on Sunday. Well, as it turned out his comments section was flooded with love and support for Indians from the green shirts. The Pakistanis are rooting for India. A defeat today would push England out of world cup contention and boost Pakistan’s chances for qualifying to the semi-final. So it’s not without a motive. But who cares? The arch-rivals are supporting us and we are loving it.

However, the bonhomie can be short-lived if Pakistan qualifies for the semi-final. If India tops the table it would mean an India-Pak matchup in the knockouts. Drooling already? Just hold on. It’s a possibility that requires several ‘ifs’ to happen. One can only pray. But are prayers powerful enough to stop Pakistan from being unpredictable?

The Pakistan’s aren’t looking that far for now and are just cheering for India. And with their blue shirts on, this is how they came up on twitter to back India.
