‘Dil se kabhi maaf nahi karunga’: Pragya Thakur is now on parliamentary committee on defence!

“it seems the Narendra Modi government is quite influenced by the old tactic of ‘make the most undisciplined guy the monitor. Just wait for it. Several ‘nationalist’ media channels might come out suggesting what a masterstroke it is"

If you recall Narendra Modi saying this in response to one of the several fiascos Pragya Thakur caused during election campaigning, perhaps you would be clucking your tongue too. In a sharp display of U-turn politics, the Narendra Modi led government has nominated the terror accused on a parliamentary committee of defence!

No quantity of exclamation marks can do justice to the shock in here. How could you? Out of all the sectors you could have probably used her ‘distinguished skills’ in, you chose to put her on the committee for defence? Insane!

What would you do with a terror accused out on a bail elsewhere in the world? Well, perhaps keep a strict eye on them. You can never trust such people. However, it seems the Narendra Modi government is quite influenced by the old tactic of ‘make the most undisciplined guy the monitor.

Just wait for it. Several ‘nationalist’ media channels might come out suggesting what a masterstroke it is. And why wait for the channels to put together a justification? Just log on to twitter and treat yourself with some of the best ones already in the market. Somebody might just tell you that Pragya Thakur understands terrorism and defence better than anybody else.

Tomorrow, their favourite party steals all the money from banks and render every single citizen penniless, you can bet on these internet greats to come out with a suitable justification for that too!

It appears silly, writing a story in such a sarcastic manner on an issue so serious. Perhaps, and it’s another perhaps in the never ending series of ‘perhaps’, there is no better way left to convey your opinion. Just be that little passionate about anything you feel strongly about and you risk labelling yourself as anti-national.
